LOCATION

JAG Alaska Inc., Seward Shipyard is located Seward, Alaska, on Resurrection Bay, along the southern coast of Alaska .  Our facility is located roughly 635 nautical miles northwest of Ketchikan, Alaska and 1200 nautical miles northwest of Seattle, WA.  We operate the closest shipyard facility of our capacity to more than two thirds of the Alaskan Coastline and the majority of the Alaskan fleet harboring  from Yukatat to Kodiak to Prudhoe Bay.  Our strategic location also places our Mobile Shipyard crews within ready distance for offsite ship repair and vessel maintenance projects throughout Alaska.

COST EFFECTIVE

JAG Alaska Inc., Seward Shipyard is one of the best equipped shipyard facilities in Alaska, providing a significant range of shipbuilding, marine repair and vessel maintenance services at highly competitive rates.  Our location makes accessing services at Seward Shipyard a substantially more cost-effective option for marine repair and maintenance services than more distant facilities.  For many of our fleets and vessel owners it is simply cost prohibitive to sail or tow vessels to and from other shipyard facilities further south.  We cut the distance and cut the cost.

JAG ALASKA: NEW MARINE VESSEL CONSTRUCTION

With nearly 45% of the Alaskan Fleet built prior to 1980, new vessel construction is important to revitalize an aging fleet.   The JAG Alaska Inc., Seward Shipyard facility is one of only a few facilities in Alaska equipped to handle repair, maintenance and new construction on vessels larger than 150 ft. in length.  The Seward Shipyard facility is one of Alaska’s “best opportunit[ies] to take full advantage of potential opportunities for larger vessel construction/maintenance/repair projects,” according to the McDowell Group’s 2014 “Trends and Opportunities in the Alaska Maritime Industrial Support Sector” report provided to the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community & Economic Development, Division of Economic Development.

JAG Alaska Inc., encourages fleets, vessel owners and investors considering new vessel construction projects to contact our facility to discuss project scope and opportunities here at the Seward Shipyard.
